Established Accountancy Practice in Newtownabbey is recruiting for an additional Assistant Accountant/ Accounting Technician / Bookkeeper Qualified By Experience to join the team. This full-time position would suit an IT literate, numerate, inquisitive and sociable Accounting professional looking to develop their career. This is an excellent opportunity to get involved with an interesting and varied client base Who we are Our client base covers sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies. Our services are focused across Accounts, Taxation, VAT, Payroll, and Bookkeeping but there is a growing requirement and an increase in demand from our clients looking for assistance with systems help, implementing new processes, procedures and improving efficiencies in their day-to-day business operations Main duties Accounts preparation for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies Corporation tax returns VAT return preparation Payroll duties both weekly and monthly Working as a client liaison and taking responsibility for queries and accounting support Ad hoc duties as required Personal Specification Must have 3+ years experience within an accountancy practice, as an accounting technician, assistant accountant, senior bookkeeper, etc. A career history developed within an accountancy practice background, with a technical skill set across a mix of accounts preparation, tax returns, payroll, and bookkeeping skills is highly desirable, and the ability to multi-task and work within a varied client portfolio. As an Accounts Technician, you may be IATI/ AAT qualified, studying in the final stages, and/or studying as part-qualified ACA or ACCA. You may also be a highly experienced professional QBE. Experience of Sage / Quickbooks / Xero and other cloud software will be advantageous whilst training and support will be on offer to help the right person get up to speed on unfamiliar systems Job Offer Salary: £28,000 - £32,000 - negotiable dependent on the experience and background of the right professional, plus benefits and study support. Hours Monday Thursday 9.30am 4.30pm, Friday 9.30am 1.30pm. Holidays - 30 days per year (inclusive of statutory days) Skills: Accounting technician Accounts technician
