Activus Recruitment are assisting our client in seeking a Plant Workshop Foreman/woman based in Cove, Aberdeen. Job Purpose: Supervising the maintenance and repair of plant and equipment. Ensuring professional standards are achieved and maintained, workshops are run efficiently and productively whilst in complience with HSE Legislation. Duties: * Providing professional, technical, supervisory, administritive and manal staff upport for plant and equipment activities within the department. * Responsible for supervising the effective and efficient running of workshops and associated yard areas ensuring safe and environmental systems of work are maintained at all times * Ensure plant and equipment maintenance and repair works are carried out in a cost effective and efficient manner whilst minimising downtime. * Monitor the quality of work produced by the plant fitters and identify improvement opportunities * Provide advice and guidance on part of purchases and optimal level of stock holding * Adhere to the oil and lubricants issue system for the plant and equipment * Ensure workshop and third-party fitters are utilising the appropriate PPE and other safety equipment * Ensure third-party fitters and or contractors adhere to company HSE policies with particular attention to Risk Assessments and Safe Systems of work * Carryout Tool Box Talks and contribute to Safety Committee Meetings * Ensure plant and equipment maintenance and repair works are kept and recorded on appropriate job sheets * Timesheets are coded accurately and submitted on time * Contribute to the plant and equipment replacement plan and provide recommendations in terms of replacement and disposal * Assist with the recruitment and training of department and personnel to maintain standards of performance, productivity and discipline * Promote a team working philosophy whilst motivating and supporting the workforce * Act as an ambassador for the company ensuring visitors, customers and staff are communicated to in a polite and courteous manner Other: * Develop personal skills and knowledge base through on-going training * Adhere to all Health and Safety guidelines * Adhere to company policies and procedures at all times * To carry out any reasonable ad hoc duties as required
