Job Title: Estimator (Architectural Metalwork)
Location: Hitchin
Employment Type: Permanent, On-site

We are looking for an experienced Estimator to join our team, specialising in Architectural Metalwork and Secondary Steel. This is a permanent, on-site role where you'll be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for a variety of projects in the architectural and secondary steelwork sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare detailed estimates for architectural metalwork and secondary steel projects
• Interpret drawings and specifications to understand project requirements
• Collaborate with project managers and engineers to ensure accurate pricing
• Source materials, liaise with suppliers, and negotiate costs
• Prepare tender submissions and manage tender processes
• Review and update estimates throughout project lifecycles
• Ensure projects remain within budget and meet deadlines

Requirements:

• Proven experience in estimating within the architectural metalwork or secondary steel industry
• Strong understanding of steelwork, particularly secondary steel structures
• Excellent knowledge of reading technical drawings and specifications
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Strong negotiation and communication skills
• Familiarity with estimating software
