Design & Technology (DT) Technician - Full-Time, Immediate Start Location: Mainstream Secondary School, Southwark Contract Type: Full-Time, Long-Term Salary: Dependent on Experience Start Date: Immediate Are you passionate about supporting students in their creative and technical learning? Our welcoming and dynamic secondary school in Southwark is seeking a full-time Design & Technology (DT) Technician to join our team immediately! This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to work in a school environment and contribute to the hands-on development of students' technical skills. Key Responsibilities: Assist DT teachers in preparing materials, tools, and equipment for lessons. Support students during practical lessons, ensuring safety and guidance in using machinery and tools. Maintain and monitor DT equipment and machinery, ensuring it is safe and operational. Organise and manage stock levels of materials for projects (e.g., wood, metal, plastic). Carry out routine checks, maintenance, and cleaning of workshop tools and machinery. Ensure the Design & Technology workshop complies with health and safety regulations. Help with creating an inspiring and organised learning environment. Requirements: A keen interest in Design & Technology with a proactive, can-do attitude. Basic knowledge of DT tools and machinery (training can be provided). Strong organisational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work well in a team and support teaching staff and students effectively. Previous experience as a DT Technician is preferred but not essential.
