Business Development Manager Full time Permanent Remote Circa £50k to £55k plus excellent benefits plus bonus Our client is one of the UK’s leading sustainability companies, established for over 30 years, and working with a large variety of blue-chip organisations, the majority of which have worked with the business for ten years plus, through continued and exciting growth plans they are now looking to expand the Communications team. Responsibilities of the Business Development Manager: The client is seeking an experienced sales professional with a passion for sustainability, to achieve deeper penetration into their target markets. The person hired will play a key role in the Business Development team, working collaboratively with colleagues to prospect and close sales in line with individual and team targets. The mission of the Business Development Manager is to develop, position and sell the clients market-leading services to their target customer base, which is made up of large corporates across the UK. The role has two key aspects: winning new clients; and nurturing and growing existing customer revenue through supporting assigned Account Directors. Key responsibilities and deliverables * New business: Prospect and identify new business opportunities for new and existing customers. * Lead qualification: Working closely with the Communications team, contact and qualify marketing qualified leads (leads generated through their content lead marketing platform) * Service development: Developing and building sales offerings in line with market requirements. * Self-management: Taking responsibility for achieving personal and team targets, and reporting accurate management information via the CRM and in meetings. * Internal collaboration and relationship building: Driving co-operation and collaboration with other company functions to maximise efficiency and effectiveness and to provide an integrated response to client needs. Developing and maintaining positive, professional working relationships with all other Company employees. * Quality assurance and team support: Support colleagues by reviewing and contributing to sales documents, presentations, pitches, etc. * Continuous improvement: Working collaboratively with colleagues to maintain and improve sales collateral (proposals, presentations etc.). * Gathering prospect feedback: Obtaining and addressing feedback from prospects to ensure successful service positioning. Communicating market/customer feedback and service requirements/ opportunities to the rest of the organisation as appropriate. * CRM: Taking responsibility for entering sales data onto their CRM platform (MS Dynamics). Ideal Profile for Business Development Manager This position would suit an experienced professional with a passion for sustainability who is looking to expand their career in a consultative sales environment. * Strong sales skills are essential, along with a good understanding of sustainability-related topics * Able to demonstrate success or aptitude for selling in a consultative environment * Successful track record of personally closing B2B deals; ideally subscription sales * Active, hands-on approach with prospective customers, and willingness to help colleagues from the team of Account Directors to close opportunities as necessary. * A professional, team-oriented, relationship-oriented approach to winning business and * developing successful, long-term client engagements * A genuine interest in sustainability and demonstrable intellectual curiosity * Willingness to embrace the company culture and lead by example * The energy and gravitas to succeed in a growing, technical industry leader * An entrepreneurial mentality with a driving desire to succeed in the market * People and relationship-oriented approach, good at building relationships across the business * A strong team player with high personal and professional standards, with a proven track record of managing, developing and motivating more junior staff * Strong interpersonal and communication skills with proven track record of quickly building credibility at senior levels, both internally and externally * A high-level of integrity and ethical standards The role will be UK-based and will require attendance at the Chichester based head office as necessary
