We’re looking for a talented Mid Level Game Designer to join our team, either remotely or from one of our offices. If you’re passionate about game design, with an eye for detail and a drive to create exceptional gaming experiences, this is the role for you.
Job Description:
As a Mid Level Game Designer, you will:
- Conceptualise, implement, and maintain gameplay systems that deliver engaging game loops, balanced gameplay, and an immersive flow state.
- Develop storylines, character backstories, and dialogue through scripts and storyboards, supported by thorough research.
- Create and maintain detailed documentation, including design outlines, diagrams, and visual mockups, to illustrate triggers, interactions, and in-game events.
- Collaborate with UX/UI Designers to optimise the player interface.
- Design level layouts that enhance gameplay experiences.
- Identify and resolve design challenges with innovative solutions.
- Work closely with creatives, developers, and managers on projects of varying lengths and complexities.
- Produce confident prototypes to bring your concepts to life.
- Provide support during the development process to ensure successful implementation.
What You’ll Need:
- A strong portfolio to present and defend during the interview.
- At least two years of experience in game design.
- A solid understanding of various game design disciplines, such as combat, progression, monetisation, and level design.
- Excellent skills in analysing, synthesising, and documenting concepts.
- Experience in taking a game from concept to live.
- Creative problem-solving abilities and a deep passion for video games.
- Knowledge of UI/UX in games, from basic to advanced.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, in English.
- Ability to manage timelines and work independently.
- Openness to feedback and a desire to improve.
Bonus Skills:
- Experience with AR/VR immersive technologies.
- Cross-platform development experience.
