Job Title: Medical Director We are working with a private company in the private/independent Healthcare space looking for a new leader to help develop and progress a current site. Responsibilities: Provide leadership to the ophthalmology department, setting clinical goals, and promoting a culture of excellence in patient care. Collaborate with executive leadership to develop strategic plans and initiatives for departmental growth and success. Oversee and direct all clinical operations, including patient consultations, surgical procedures, and post-operative care, ensuring adherence to best practices and safety standards. Foster a collaborative and innovative environment that encourages research, continuous learning, and the adoption of new technologies and treatments. Implement and monitor quality assurance programs to maintain the highest level of patient outcomes and satisfaction. Lead the recruitment, training, and professional development of Doctors and supporting staff to build a highly competent and cohesive team. Maintain compliance with all regulatory requirements, professional standards, and legal guidelines relevant to ophthalmology practice. Collaborate with the administrative team to optimise resource allocation, manage budgets, and enhance operational efficiency. Represent the organisation in professional and community engagements, promoting the ophthalmology department's expertise and reputation. Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in ophthalmology, ensuring the integration of evidence-based practices and cutting-edge treatments. Qualifications and Requirements: Medical degree (MD) GMC Registration Extensive experience as an ophthalmologist, with a proven track record of clinical excellence and leadership. Strong strategic and analytical skills, with the ability to translate vision into actionable plans. Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities to foster collaboration among diverse teams and stakeholders. Demonstrated proficiency in managing clinical operations and ensuring adherence to quality standards. Sound knowledge of industry regulations, accreditation, and compliance requirements. Dedication to patient-centred care, patient safety, and continuous improvement. Ability to inspire, motivate, and mentor clinical professionals to achieve their full potential.
