Groundworks General Foreman

My client is a multi-disciplined civil engineering contractor based in the East Midlands and with a growing order book are actively recruiting for a Groundworks General Foreman in Nottingham.

Working on new build housing developments, candidates will be responsible for overseeing groundworks packages (drainage, earthworks, foundations, roads/sewers, landscaping and externals), health & safety, managing direct/subcontract labour and quality checks.

Additional duties include:

• Reporting into the Contracts Manager on planning/programmes and site progress.
• Ordering materials and plant.
• Conducting daily briefings, safety inspections, toolbox talks and site inductions.
• Ensuring health & safety proceedures and policies are adhered to.
• Liaising with client's representatives.
• Attending client and subcontractor meetings.
• Coordinating direct and subcontractor workforce on site.

Successful candidates will possess:

• Valid CSCS Card, SSSTS/SMSTS and First Aid at Work accreditation.
• HNC/HND or equivalent in a construcion-related discipline (desirable).
• Minimum of 4 years residential groundworks experience in a similar role (essential).
• NRSWA Supervisor, Confined Space and CAT & Genny trained (desirable).
• Full UK driving licence to allow travel to sites across the region.
• IT proficienct with MS Office (Excel, Outlook and Word).
• Excellent communication skills.
