Job Description

New requirement for an experienced Construction Disputes Lawyer to join a global law firm as a Senior Associate. Applicants should have at least 7 years of relevant experience and the role could be based in Glasgow or Edinburgh with hybrid working.

The Construction, Advisory and Disputes Team in Scotland is at the heart of this market-leading global disputes practice. It is:

  • a hub for many of the firm’s most important relationships;
  • host to some of the firm’s largest domestic and international disputes;
  • a centre of excellence for innovation; and
  • home to several of the firm’s global leadership team.

The group, as a whole, is consistently ranked number 1 globally for construction, energy and infrastructure ranked among the top 100 arbitration practices worldwide by Global Arbitration Review with a first class team of over 170 lawyers. The firm is recognised both nationally and internationally as the leading adviser to the construction and engineering industries and for infrastructure and energy projects. They have an unrivalled reputation in acting for contractors, project companies, developers, public bodies, funders and insurers. They act for over half of the UK's top 50 contractors, a large number of the top contractors worldwide and an impressive range of private and public sector clients.

Their deep understanding and close alignment to the construction sector has enabled them to offer an "entire project life cycle" service to their clients. Their legal services span national and international procurement techniques and strategies and all forms of dispute resolution.

What can you expect?

  • High quality engineering and construction work – both live project advisory work and formal disputes involving adjudication, arbitration, litigation, mediation and other forms of ADR
  • Responsibility and opportunities to develop rewarding and sustainable client relationships
  • The very best national and international work
  • Client secondment and Office secondment opportunities
  • Genuine long-term career prospects supported through their "best in class" training and Academy personal development programmes. The firm provides ongoing tailored training pre- and post-promotion, which has enabled several recent Scottish promotions into Partner and Legal Director roles
  • Market leading salary
