Senior Quantity Surveyor

Quantity Surveyor looking for step up to Senior
Location: Hertfordshire (Head Office), with site-based work covering North West London projects and options for home working after successful probation.
Salary: £60,000 - £75,000 (dependent on experience) + car allowance + excellent benefits package
Contract Type: Permanent, full-time
Our client is a leading Tier 1 Main Contractor specialising in large-scale civil engineering and infrastructure projects.
Role Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic team. This role is ideal for a Quantity Surveyor with Tier 1 main contractor experience looking to advance their career. The successful candidate will play a critical role in managing costs and ensuring the financial success of our civil engineering projects.
Key Responsibilities:
* Oversee commercial management and procurement of subcontractors for large-scale projects.
* Lead regular meetings to discuss measurement, control cycles, certificates, and accruals calculations.
* Prepare and manage monthly reports, including earned value analysis.
* Ensure compliance with ICE/NEC forms of contract (NEC3 or NEC4) and current Construction Law.
* Mentor and support junior members of the commercial team, fostering a collaborative environment.
* Manage large volumes of data associated with open book forms of contract.
* Work closely with project teams to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
Essential Qualifications:
* HND / degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent.
* Previous experience in the civil engineering industry, preferably with a Tier 1 main contractor.
* Water / utilities experience, or previous experience with Thames Water contractors is desirable.
* Proven ability to manage and report on commercial aspects of projects.
* Strong knowledge of current Construction Law and NEC contract forms.
Skills and Attributes:
* Excellent team player with the ability to work independently.
* Strong time management skills, capable of meeting tight deadlines.
* Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
* Demonstrated ability to handle complex data and commercial scenarios.
