Job DescriptionReporting to the MD, this is a highly strategic role, you will be instrumental in working across the key disciplines and with Senior Management Team to collectively build an ambitious fast growth event strategy supported by best-in-class high performing event marketing campaigns, which as appropriate integrate into the wider businesses to optimise event and overarching business outcomes. Our goal in Fastmarkets is to build out where possible a single Fastmarkets customer journey in which events are a fast-growing commercial operation which also bring to life our brand and experts, in this way maximising the commercial and brand impact of our event experiences. This is a key role in enabling events to achieve our ambitious growth goals. AS the Head of Event Marketing, you will be responsible for the overall delegate revenue, number and quality performance for the business. To deliver against these goals you will collaborate with multiple stakeholders and work in close partnership with the key departments and the events team and take them on a journey to deliver marketing excellence. You will spearhead the creation of a best-in-class event marketing team and be responsible for building and developing your talent bench. The team will comprise three Event Marketing Managers who are event and industry marketing specialists and three Delegate Sales Executives. Your team will work in partnership with the production, sales, central marketing and operations departments to design high performing event marketing campaigns supporting delegate and SpEx performance with the required collateral and lead gen and conversion campaigns. In addition to where possible throughout the event customer journey ensuring we consistently link the delegate to subscriber and vice versa journeys, optimising event delegate performance and wider business lead gen outcomes. To deliver these campaigns activities, the Event Marketing Team will also work in close partnership with the central marketing function as well as external marketing agencies, as and when specialist marketing skills are required to deliver against campaign goals. As Head of Marketing, you will oversee these key relationships, establishing SLAs and ensuring teams work efficiently and effectively together. Events is as a data driven business, to ensure that we can deliver against our ambitious growth goals in a sustainable way, campaigns will need to be supported by robust data strategies which identify customer growth opportunities and gaps and address with data building initiatives, which in turn can be fed back into the wider business. In addition to data, you will be responsible for overseeing customer insight activities including but not limited to consistent post event surveys but also proposing and managing deeper qualitative activities in conjunction with the wider event teams as appropriate. PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES Plan and execute a marketing strategy for the events business across launch and existing events or servicesDevelop a high performing event marketing team and build the talent bench including a dedicated delegate sales operation Oversee the implementation of the marketing strategy at a business and event level Oversee onsite deliver of Fastmarkets brand experience Set and administer and the annual manage marketing budget across all events and ensure costs are managed forensically. Guide the day-to-day activities of the marketing team and marketing managers. Work with IT to capitalise on event technology performance in customer journey, feeding in business requirements, tracking performance and driving continual improvements. Create SLAs with key departments and external suppliers to establish efficient and transparent ways of working.Manage integration with Central Marketing Function, identifying and rapidly addressing any challenges/ issues Create pricing strategies at event level to drive customer and commercial growth based on deep understanding of the market, event objectives, customer and competitors. Manage customer success team to ensure seamless customer journey and track performance Continually review changes to the market, consumer trends and the activities of competitors, adjusting the marketing plan if necessaryProvide tools and materials to enable the sales team to function effectively and drive lead gen campaigns. Work with central marketing to manage and refine the organisation’s social media presence pre, at and post event Create sustainable email campaign approaches to minimis unsubscribe levels and roll out Work with central marketing to build a connected customer journey to ensure events and lead gen campaigns feed into each other where possible to drive increased conversion from delegate customer to subscriber and vice versaBuild and deploy actionable data strategies to grow target customer databases to support growth strategy. Manage and report on the effectiveness of marketing campaigns using pre-determined KPIsUtilise data for marketing campaigns, interrogating the organisation’s databases and external dataIdentify new business opportunities and technologies to drive efficiency and effectiveness of marketing operations and campaigns.Conduct market research studies and ensure all marketers develop a deep understanding of their markets and customer bases.
