Job Description

My client are a leading Bank based in Oman undergoing a significant change programme to transform the bank’s offering from a digital perspective. This will take in both the front end customer experience and back office capability to drive a more effective all-round offering.


To help ensure the critical strategic objectives are met across the organisation, my client are looking to hire a Senior Treasury / ALM Dealer. Please note, this role requires full relocation to Oman.



Job Description & Role Specification


Reporting to the Deputy Head of Treasury, the ALM Dealer is responsible for executing day-to-day trading activities within the Money Market Desk, ensuring compliance with regulatory guidelines. They actively contribute to the desk's profitability by identifying and implementing innovative trading strategies. Additionally, the Senior Dealer supports the development and implementation of long-term strategies for the desk, leveraging their expertise in foreign exchange, derivatives, and fixed income to optimize resource utilization and maximize returns.


Responsibilities:


Liquidity Management

  • Follow up on overdue, excess over limits, missing and expired documents.
  • Support business unit especially the relationship managers in managing the portfolio
  • Helping to enhance the quality of credit applications


Interest Rate Management

  • Provide recommendations tied to analysis and assessment of credit risk.
  • Keep up to date with company’s lending protocol


Capital Adequacy

  • Assess credit risk and recommend capital allocation and provisioning.


Funding Cost Optimization

  • Provide recommendations tied to analysis and assessment of credit risk


Ensuring Compliance:

  • To understand and ensure compliance with all relevant internal and external rules, regulations, and procedure that apply to the conduct of the business in which the jobholder is involved.
  • Strict adherence with all regulatory and internally laid down limits.


Risk management

  • Keep knowledge of key issues up to date (for example legal, market risk and compliance issues)


Balance Sheet Optimization

  • Conduct thorough analysis of financial statement and assessment of credit requests.
  • Reconcile credit files and identify discrepancies and variances.
  • Develop and prepare spreadsheets and models to support analysis of new existing credit application



Education & Experience requirements


The candidate must have experience of directly working in a Treasury function and an educational level of:


  • Bachelor Degree in Banking / Finance / Accounting
  • Master in Banking / Finance / Accounting
  • Preferably CFA
  • Worked previously in the financial / banking sector
