We are working with two Real Estate private equity platforms who are in the early stage of their growth, as they start to implement their pan-European investment strategy.
At this critical point in their development, they are both looking to recruit a Vice President to support the acquisitions team across UK/Europe.
These are exciting opportunities for a bright, self-starter – a technically strong investment professional – looking to work in an entrepreneurial and dynamic environment in a growing team in London and/or Milan. The successful candidate will join an expanding platform that is still in its European adolescence, but which benefits from the support and backing of experienced and well-respected senior leaders.
The Role:
Based in London or Milan and with significant scope to invest across UK and Europe, the Vice President Acquisitions will play a key part in investing across the region. As a key senior member of the Investment team, you will be responsible for:
- Evaluation of real estate investment and development opportunities
- Responsible for underwriting, and closing real estate investments across the firm’s investments strategies in select European markets.
- Leverage existing, and develop new trusted relationships with owner/operators, developers, investors, brokers, lenders/bankers, and other marketing sources to generate ongoing lists of qualified investment opportunities;
- Expected to make substantial contributions to analysis that will inform the firm's investment decisions
- Oversee and drive a thorough, detail oriented due diligence process protecting the firm's risk profile throughout the transaction
- Building comprehensive feasibility studies and financial models and leading deal execution process
- Manage small deal teams to process and execute transactions while developing junior talent.
- Preparation of market research updates, sector analysis and benchmarking studies
- Managing and monitoring existing investments
To qualify, candidates must possess:
MBA or similar university degree
- Minimum 7 plus years of relevant real estate investment experience.
- Proven investment track record of sourcing, structuring and closing transactions.
- Self-starter who can take deal from initial analysis to due diligence
- Excellent due diligence, analytical, transaction structuring and financial skills.
- Disciplined and rigorous in underwriting and managing investments
- Ability to understand the investment risks and the methods to mitigate the risks in structuring investments
- Astute commercial sense, strong analytical skills and superior critical thinking
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and persuasively
- Able to multi-task and focus on delivering results
- Comfortable working in a highly entrepreneurial environment.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills; strong presentation and process management skills.
- A strong sense of energy, drive and commitment while maintaining a high level of attention to detail
- Fluency in one or more continental European languages in addition to English is preferred
