Manufacturing Buyer

Are you a savvy buyer with a knack for procurement and a background in Manufacturing??   An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Technical Buyer to join a forward-thinking company that excels in project-based manufacturing. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment and has a strong understanding of Buying.   What You’ll Be Doing: Lead supplier selection and development, ensuring suppliers meet quality, delivery, and cost requirements. Engage with suppliers to assess technical requirements and manage supplier accounts on the company ERP system. Monitor costs and budgets, communicate discrepancies, and ensure timely delivery of materials in line with production targets. Liaise with various departments to keep everyone informed about supply statuses and resolve any invoice queries. Identify new suppliers and methods to enhance the company’s purchasing and stock control processes. Contribute to cost reduction, product development, and process improvement projects. What They’re Looking For: Experience in a manufacturing-based purchasing role with a good grasp of mechanical and electrical processes. Strong communication and negotiation skills. Competence in interpreting engineering CAD drawings and excellent computer skills. A flexible, adaptable approach and the ability to work effectively in a changing environment. Optional but beneficial: CIPS certification or an engineering-related qualification.
