The Falkland Island Government Health & Social Services Department is looking for an experienced ODP/Theatre Practitioner to join our small theatre team in the beautiful Falkland Islands!

Stanley, Falkland Islands
Full time (37.5 hours per week)
FTC up to 4 years
£35k - £40k plus 25% Gratuity (taxable) & Flights and Relocation Package

The Role
We are looking for an experienced Theatre Practitioner/ODP to join our team and oversee the day-to-day operations of the theatre and sterile services department. This role will see you working in multiple settings, from assisting with trauma cases and ITU patients to managing outpatient clinics and emergency evacuations.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage theatre resources, ensuring a safe and effective operating environment
Assist in all areas of the patient pathway, including pre-and post-operative care
Provide support in A&E, ITU, and fracture clinics
Apply and care for plaster casts, supporting trauma and intensive care patients
Undertake sterilization for the entire health service, ensuring high standards are met
Participate in aeromedical evacuations to Uruguay or Chile
Support leadership within the nursing team, ensuring quality care is consistently provided
Develop and implement nursing practices based on patient needs and local resources
Maintain excellent communication and relationships with multidisciplinary teams
The Person
The ideal candidate will have:
HCPC Registered ODP / 1st Level NMC
7 years' effective experience as a ODP / Theatre Practitioner
Has the ability to work and communicate effectively within a busy multidisciplinary team
Resilience and the ability to manage complexity and work in a changing environment under pressure
The Package
Fixed Term Contract up to 4 years
Starting Salary £35,274 to £40,668 (depending on qualifications and experience)
Eligibility for a 25% Gratuity , paid upon successful completion of the contract
41 days paid leave , 30 days paid annual leave plus 11 government and public holidays
Relocation Allowance, to help with moving costs
Flights Package for you and any recognised dependents residing with you at post both at the beginning and end of contract, along with additional annual return flights contingent on the duration of the contract
Government Housing for rent and a starter pack to help you settle in
