SEN Teaching Assistant

Flourish Education is currently recruiting a Teaching Assistant to work with an Ofsted-rated ‘Good’ school near Yardley to join their staff on a long-term basis. The school’s mission is to ensure that they have a school community that empowers and inspires all. Our client wants to appoint a passionate Teaching Assistant to work in their resource base which is a seperate classroom dedicated to children with SEN. Most of the children in the base are autistic and some are nonverbal. Responsibilities in this role include supporting the children to meet their individual needs, keeping the children engaged and monitoring their progress. This Teaching Assistant role is to start ASAP and will continue until Christmas, maybe longer. The position is full-time, 8:30-3:30. Required Skills and Experience for this Teaching Assistant role: Experience working in schools in the UK Minimum Level 3 qualification Experience supporting children with SEN Effectively manage the behaviour and engagement of the children Motivating and encouraging the children Supporting with learning and development Working closely with the class teacher, SENDCo and other staff Giving feedback to parents Commitment to the role Being flexible when needed Partial personal care may be required at times Working for Flourish Education as a Teaching Assistant you will receive: £85.02 day rate to £100 day rate which equates to £16,578.90 per annum to £19,500 per annum based on working 5 days a week for a full school year The option of PAYE or Umbrella Holiday Pay - for PAYE candidates 12.07% of your day rate is accrued into your holiday pot Pension Contributions Free KCSIE compliant Safeguarding and Prevent Duty Training inclusive of modules relating to legislation, FGM and abuse £100 welcome to the team bonus Refer a Friend bonus scheme Regular contact throughout the registration process and once you are at work This Teaching Assistant opportunity is located in Yardley which is easily commutable from Stechford, Sparkhill, Bordesley Green, Ward End, Small Heath, Marston Green and most areas of Birmingham and Solihull via car, bus and train.
