About the role: As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to provide tailored support to children with SEMH needs. You will play a key role in promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment, helping students to engage fully with the curriculum and develop essential social and emotional skills. This is a full-time, long-term position, offering you the chance to build meaningful relationships with students and see the impact of your support over time. The ideal candidate will be empathetic, patient, and able to adapt to the unique needs of each child. Experience working with SEMH or other SEN needs is highly desirable. Application Requirements: • Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant, particularly with SEN children. • A genuine passion for supporting children with SEMH needs. • Strong communication and teamwork skills. • Patience, empathy, and the ability to build positive relationships with students. • Relevant qualifications (desirable but not essential). Key Responsibilities: • Support students with SEMH and other special educational needs in both one-to-one and group settings. • Assist the class teacher with lesson preparation and classroom management. • Implement individualised learning plans and strategies to help students overcome their challenges. • Monitor and report on student progress, providing feedback to teachers and the SENCO. • Help to create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment.
