Sr Power Systems Engineer - Energy Storage

Pangea is working with a leading energy company that has an impressive track record in the energy storage world, having delivered multiple GW of BESS globally. As they continue to grow, they are actively looking to add a Senior Power Systems Engineer to their growing team in Finland or the UK. About the Role: As a Senior Power Systems Engineer, your primary focus will be on dynamic modeling of inverter-based resources, with an emphasis on battery energy storage systems using tools like DIgSILENT. You will be instrumental in grid code analysis and stability assessments for utility-scale BESS and hybrid systems that integrate solar PV, contributing to advancements in power system optimization tools. Responsibilities: Develop and refine dynamic models for BESS. Perform simulation tests to assess model effectiveness. Collaborate with software and hardware teams to support comprehensive battery system modeling. Enhance internal models to streamline product development. Document improvements and new modeling methodologies. Analyze specifications for large-scale energy projects, including thermal, renewable, and storage systems. Qualifications: Master’s or Ph.D. in power systems, electrical engineering, or a related field. 3+ years of relevant experience. Expertise in modeling inverter-based resources. Proficiency in tools such as PSCAD and DIgSILENT. Familiarity with Python, and Fortran. Strong attention to detail and effective communication skills.
