In DWP we call this role a Digital Capability Manager - you'll be part of our brilliant Capability community - but this is a Recruitment Business Partner role, where you'll be central to ensuring that strategy and delivery aligns to business needs.

As a Digital Recruitment Business Partner you will use your broad experience in the HR and/or Recruitment space to develop people strategies, and support Digital in attracting retaining quality talent.

What skills, knowledge and experience will you need?

  • Experience working on resourcing strategies within the HR function
  • Ability to research and utilise your established networks to collate insight and support the development of resourcing strategies and EDI focused initiatives
  • Ability to conduct data-led analysis from variant sources and tools to anticipate issues, and present findings and recommendations to decisions makers based on such evidence
  • Ability to take such recommendations from inception to implementation
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and management skills at all levels, with the confidence to consult key decisions makers to inform the development of key initiatives
  • Confident with producing progress updates and reporting via a wide range of mechanisms to various audiences
  • Effective project management skills - monitor and track plans, deliver to tight deadlines, prioritise effectively, mitigate risks, review performance, achieve successful outcomes, evaluation and measurement of impacts.

You and your role



This is an exciting and varied opportunity within our Capability team, to utilise your skills to deliver positive impact in the way we approach recruitment. You will have the opportunity to work closely with Senior stakeholders, presenting your findings to influence decisions at this level. You'll also collaborate with technical specialists , trainees and apprentices, external suppliers and partners, and of course your colleagues within Digital Capability and Recruitment more to find the right answers.

You will work across a real variety of projects - this might be challenges within resourcing, review and evaluation opportunities, ED&I initiatives and more. Your exemplary communication skills and ability to build effective relationships will be critical in enabling positive change in these spaces.

Our Digital Capability team are working with several Functions and Communities of Practise, enabling you to develop your orientation in the UK's biggest government department, DWP.

Location: You'll join us in one of our brilliant digital hubs in Birmingham, Blackpool, Leeds, Manchester or Newcastle, whichever is most convenient for you.

Hybrid Working: We work a hybrid model - you'll spend some time working at home and some time collaborating face to face in a hub.

Pay: We offer competitive pay of up to 43,347.

Pension: You'll get a brilliant civil service pension with employer contributions worth 28.97%, worth up to 12,557 a year.

Holidays: A generous leave package starting 26 days rising to 31 days over time.

You can also take up to 3 extra days off a month on flexi-time. You'll also get all the usual public holidays.
