Head of IT Due to business growth and the evolving technology market, we are looking for a Head of IT. We are looking for someone who has a real passion for IT, a drive to be the best. Someone who will understand our business and help develop IT strategies to assist in our success.For the right candidate we are willing to consider office location. Our IT Team are based in our Head office in Solihull and travel to our regional offices will be required. This is a permanent full-time position working 36.25 hours per week using our agile framework. About CPWWe are passionate and experienced mechanical, electrical and low-carbon engineers who enjoy bringing buildings to life in ways that are better for the world. Ultimately, our people are our power.Key responsibilitiesAs the Head of IT, you will be responsible for:·  Accountability and responsibility of the IT Team, which includes an IT Manager and 2 IT Support staff.· Produce and manage the IT budget, reviewing spend and opportunity to reduce costs. ·  Monitor licence allocations & renewals.· Develop and maintain key internal relationships.·  Work with the leadership team to develop and execute the overall IT strategy.·  Maintain and develop key external relationships with service providers and vendors.·  Manage, monitor and record all IT contracts.· Tender procurement of IT equipment, contracts & software.·  Develop and implement IT strategies, i.e. introduction of AI.·  Develop policies and procedures that support the IT operation.· Providing training / coaching to the wider IT team.·  Provide IT training to wider business as and when required.·  Streamline the IT offering, to ensure cohesion across all offices. ·  Liaise with the business to understand IT requirements.·  Monitor the helpdesk operation, ensure prompt resolution of helpdesk tickets.·  Join the disaster recovery team and be the IT lead. · Produce and collate IT reports when necessary.·  Ensure accreditation is maintained.·  Overall management of cyber security, ensuring sufficient protection is in place.·  Research, develop and project manage new software/hardware for business needs·  Bring new ideas / improvements to fruition.You will become an integral part of our team, as well as being able to work on your own initiative and with a proactive approachYour Experience & Qualifications· A Degree in an IT related qualification or equivalent.· Preferably Microsoft 365 certified.· Minimum of 5 years’ experience of managing and implementing an IT function within a business.· Strong technology experience, a solid understanding of support IT services within a business at a capacity for 200+ employees.· Good understanding of GDPR and data protection.· Strong market knowledge and evidence of utilising that knowledge to make changes with an IT function.· Skills to influence and drive effective change in a fast past environment.· Confidence to work with ambiguity, prioritise effectively, assess and manage risk and make decisions.What we offerWe are invested in our people and offer a competitive benefit package to all our employees:· Excellent growth and career opportunities.· A forward thinking, agile approach to working.· Competitive pay and enhanced sickness/maternity/paternity pay schemes.· Generous annual leave entitlement with the opportunity to buy and sell leave.· Interesting and technically challenging projects.· Recruitment referral bonus scheme.· Cycle to work scheme.· Electrical vehicle scheme.· Eye care vouchers.· Employee Assistance Program (EAP).· Full allowance for team building activities.Social and charitable giving is at the heart of CPW as a business.
