Role Overview: We are seeking an experienced Employee Relations Specialist with a minimum of 5 years of experience in employee relations within a complex, matrixed environment, preferably in the financial services sector. The successful candidate will play a critical role in managing and resolving employee relations issues, ensuring that the firm’s policies and procedures are adhered to, and promoting a positive work environment. Key Responsibilities: Employee Relations Case Management: Manage a wide range of employee relations cases, including disciplinary actions, grievances, performance management, absence management, and workplace investigations, ensuring timely and fair resolution. Policy and Procedure Compliance: Advise managers and employees on company policies, procedures, and best practices, ensuring compliance with employment laws and regulations. Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with HR Business Partners, line managers, and senior leadership to provide expert advice on complex employee relations matters, supporting business objectives and promoting a positive workplace culture. Conflict Resolution: Act as a mediator in conflict situations, providing guidance and support to managers and employees to resolve disputes effectively and professionally. Data Analysis and Reporting: Track and analyse employee relations trends and case data, providing insights and recommendations to HR leadership to inform strategy and improve processes. Training and Development: Deliver training sessions and workshops to managers and employees on employee relations topics, such as performance management, conflict resolution, and employment law updates. Continuous Improvement: Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of employee relations policies, processes, and systems, ensuring they align with best practices and support the company’s strategic goals. Risk Management: Identify potential risks associated with employee relations issues and work proactively to mitigate these risks, ensuring a fair and consistent approach is taken across the organization. Required Skills and Experience: Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in employee relations, preferably within the financial services sector or a similarly complex, regulated environment. Education: Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, Law, or a related field. CIPD qualification or equivalent is preferred. Knowledge: Strong knowledge of UK employment law, employee relations best practices, and experience handling complex ER cases from start to finish. Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the organization. Problem-Solving: Proven ability to handle sensitive and complex employee relations issues with discretion, professionalism, and sound judgment. Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and reporting skills, with the ability to interpret data and provide insights to inform decision-making. Organizational Skills: Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple cases and projects simultaneously, prioritizing effectively to meet deadlines. Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing business needs.
