Your opportunity As an Associate Software Engineer within the Investments and Operations Development team you will join a 40-strong development team responsible for delivering ongoing change to the suite of applications and systems comprising Janus Henderson’s investment capabilities such as trading, research, performance, and risk. This is a hands-on technical role where you will provide development expertise as part of an agile, product team. You will be expected to contribute to technical design, take ownership of requirements, implement, test, and ensure stable deployment to production, and troubleshoot production issues. It is important in this role that you can communicate and collaborate effectively across all areas of technology and business partners globally. You will: Work closely with the Product Owners to understand development priorities and backlog items. Work closely with Architects, Engineers, and Tech Leads, ensuring that all solutions fit well within the strategic architectural vision. Experience of Azure or other cloud providers Experience of micro-service development and API development Knowledge of Databricks and Python development experience beneficial Good understanding of Agile delivery methodologies Experience of working with geographically disperse development teams. Degree educated in mathematics or scientific/engineering discipline. Nice to have skills Craftsman-like approach to building software; takes pride in engineering excellence and instils these values in others. Demonstrable passion for technology e.g., personal projects, open-source involvement Intellectually robust with a keenly analytic approach to problem solving. Self-organized with the ability to effectively manage time across multiple projects and with competing business demands and priorities.
