Metro are looking for a Cargowise Process Improvement Lead to join our Business Improvement team. In this role you will be making your mark by working with all of our operational departments to identify and implement improvement solutions. Key Responsibilities

  • Support department reviews in line with the business improvement team
  • Understand high level operational processes, stakeholders, purpose and turnaround
  • Identify challenges i.e. manual, repetitive, time-consuming tasks etc
  • Document all requirements and background information
  • Identify and formulate possible solutions in CW1 e.g. workflow, tags/tasks, VB, acceptability band, reports, milestones and customs fields etc
  • Evaluate pros and cons of each scenarios and compatibility with existing constraints
  • Communicate, share business needs with relevant stakeholders and jointly discuss potential solutions based on priorities and objectives
  • Ability to explain in simple terms current process, outcomes and current challenges
  • Bring different departments/experts together to find the most suitable solutions. Ability to explain each potential solution to non-IT driven operators
  • Finalise solution and ensure responsible stakeholders are aware of spec and agreed timelines
  • Ensure all new processes are documented
  • Find the most efficient way to communicate and roll out processes with relevant parties
  • Trial/test/trouble shoot
  • Implement and monitor roll out
  • Collate lessons learnt and review if new process can be utilised elsewhere


General Skills

  • Advanced knowledge of CW1 and all of the modules
  • Cargowise certified (CCP) Cargowise Certified Professional
  • Willingness to learn and develop
  • Have a professional, flexible, and personable approach to user
  • Be comfortable communicating at all levels including board level
  • Have good communications skills, written, telephone and personal
  • Demonstrate good attention to detail
  • Team player who can collaborate effectively with colleagues
  • Ability to think critically and objectively
  • Ability to take a logical approach to fault finding and problem resolution
  • Demonstrable experience of ‘getting things done’ and ‘can do’ attitude
