Electronic Design Engineer (Contract)

Job Title: Electronics Engineer with analogue and digital design Location: East Sussex Level: min 2-3 years experience We require an Electronics Engineer with a proficiency in analogue and digital design to work as part of a team to maintain the existing builds, as well as design and redesign new instrumentation to meet the requirements of the business. Develop new electronic instruments and equipment. Maintain existing and upgrade existing designs to meet legislative requirements, overcome obsolescence and improve performance; Propose and prepare electronic specifications to meet functional requirements and negotiate and agree achievable requirements; Prototype, test and document results, as well as present the test data to others; Trouble-shoot development and production issues, contributing to test and inspection plans as necessary; Liaising with suppliers, sub-contractors and internal and external personnel as required; Maintain electronic & software information to meet the quality system requirements; Advise on the content and provide outline and key details required for others to prepare technical support documentation; Looking for continuous improvement within electronic and software design, and ideas for improving the quality and efficiency of the Company’s operations, products and services Training other employees in technical and operation matters and above responsibilities, as and when required; The ideal candidate would have a good understanding of instrumentation and monitoring systems and be familiar with signal processing and instrumentation; HND or degree level in electronics or equivalent; Proven track record of electronics (hardware) product development and design experience; Circuit board design software package knowledge; EMC, RoHS, LVD, CE/UKCA design compliance; Internet of Things (IoT) design and implementation experience would be advantageous; Capable of applying knowledge to troubleshoot and propose solutions for electronics-related issues; Firmware design would be advantageous; Good computer literacy skills; Compensation: Competitive salary, depending on candidate’s experience Twenty days holiday plus statutory bank holidays Pension & Life Insurance Private Health Insurance
