The post holder will be responsible for the co-ordination and management of an agreed clinical research portfolio at St George's Hospital The post holder will work collaboratively with the research teams and wider multidisciplinary team in the management of their own caseload of clinical trials patients and be accountable for the achievement of local and national targets in relation to the service Responsibilities include: facilitating study set-up identifying suitable patients through the process of MDT's/screening notes collecting data interviewing supporting and monitoring patients and data entry. The post holder will also be expected to have sufficient skills to enable patients to make informed choices concerning their involvement in clinical trials by providing advice and information and acting as the patients advocate. The post holder must also be willing to move to different clinical specialties within the remit of their qualifications and where the need to do so is identified. Main duties of the job  An exciting opportunity has arisen for two full time Clinical Research Nurses to join our friendly Team. The Clinical Research Facility (CRF) nurses play a key role in the delivery of clinical research at St. George's Hospital, developing and creating robust systems and processes to enable clinical research to run smoothly, efficiently and whilst ensuring the highest of standards are maintained. The Vaccine Institute also supports COVID19 trials and the post holder will be required to work on these as well. This role involves liaison with Principal Investigators and other members of the multidisciplinary team to provide high quality data collection and clinical care, with a commitment to participant safety and welfare. The post holder will be expected to advocate for patients and empower them to make informed choices concerning their involvement in clinical research studies by providing advice and information. The post holder will work with a high level of autonomy, taking delegated responsibility from clinicians for clinical decision making, and will work closely with investigators and multidisciplinary staff.
