SEN Teaching Assistant Location: Darwen, Lancashire Salary: £11.72 - £12.78 per hour (Actual salary: £20,941.30 - £22,835.30, depending on experience) ? Hours: 40 hours per week - Term Time Only We are seeking a committed and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant (Level 1-2) to join our team in Darwen. In this role, you'll support students aged 10-19 with complex needs, including Autism, Asperger's Syndrome, and related conditions. About the Role As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you'll play a vital role in supporting the learning, development, and well-being of our students in a nurturing and safe environment. You'll collaborate with the class teacher to deliver personalised learning activities, fostering independence, positive behaviour, and social and emotional growth. Key Responsibilities Assist with planning and evaluating learning activities. Provide feedback on student progress and attainment. Monitor and report on student development, ensuring compliance with school policies. Support positive behaviour management, adapting strategies to meet individual needs. Encourage social, emotional, and behavioural development in line with the school's curriculum. Skills and Qualifications Experience working with children with Special Educational Needs (SEN). Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (essential for student transport on a rota basis). GCSE Maths and English (Grade C/Level 2 or above) - essential. Level 2 or higher qualification in Teaching and Learning Support (desirable). Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
