Transport Manager

Sharpsmart Transport Team is at the very centre of our business providing an essential service to our Healthcare Customers. We are now expanding our team in Spennymoor have an opportunity for an experienced Transport Manager to join and lead this growing team.The Transport Manager will undertake depot responsibility for the management of Driver and Vehicle compliance. You will deliver an efficient and effective collection service taking the lead on the integration of new services and customer roll outs demonstrating commercial awareness and the ability to liaise with key internal and external stakeholders.Your role will involveOperational transport complianceScheduling, analysis and planning and out of hours responsesIncident investigation and assist in the disciplinary processes, accident and incident investigations, driver training and auditingPerformance management, absence management, KPI setting and 121s and InterviewingSupport will be given to the National Transport Manager on vehicle and supplier procurement and supply.Liaison with internal department and external third partiesSubmit Transport updates and reports to Senior Management TeamTransport Employee Recruitment & DevelopmentHealth and safetySkills and experienceCPC Qualification/ADR KnowledgeMinimum 2 years’ experience in a similar transport management role with strong understanding of Transport ComplianceExperience of vehicle routing and excellent geographical knowledge for the North East regionExperience of building relations and working with drivers on a daily basisStrong organisational skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritisePeople Management, including hiring, performance management, absence management, disciplinary actionsExcellent PC skills including Microsoft packages with Intermediate Excel skillsFull UK Driving LicenseWorking hours Monday to Friday 7am to 5pmWhat we offerCompetitive Salary and KPI BonusHealthcare and dentalcare optionsCaboodle benefit schemeTraining and developmentCompany events
