Job Title: Fire Safety AdvisorLocation: WarringtonBand: Band 6Hours: 37.5 hours Monday – Friday/ 9-5Duration: 3 Months with a possible extensionPay Rate:PAYE Inclusive of Holiday pay - £22.62Umbrella - £25.74Department: Estates and FacilitiesJob Purpose:The Fire Safety Advisor will provide expert fire safety guidance to senior management and the Board to ensure the organization meets statutory obligations under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005. The post-holder will coordinate fire risk assessments, inspections, and training, ensuring compliance and safety across all Trust premises.Key Responsibilities:Ensure compliance with the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005.Maintain and implement an up-to-date Fire Safety Policy across the organization.Coordinate and, when necessary, conduct fire risk assessments and inspections.Investigate the causes of fires and unwanted fire signals, reporting as required.Provide fire safety statistics, trend analyses, and reports for various committees.Plan and deliver comprehensive fire safety training for all staff, including out-of-hours sessions.Work with estates, building control, fire authorities, and architects regarding fire safety in new and existing buildings.Ensure fire evacuation drills are conducted regularly across departments.Liaise with contractors regarding fire safety systems maintenance.Actively participate in cross-team collaboration to improve fire safety practices.Health and Safety Responsibilities:Adhere to all health and safety regulations, ensuring personal safety and that of others.Report any hazards, incidents, or unsafe practices in accordance with organizational policies.Generic Responsibilities:Support the Trust's mission to be a leading provider in mental health, community, addiction, and learning disability services.Role model the organization’s core values: Continuous Improvement, Accountability, Respectfulness, Enthusiasm, and Support.Actively challenge stigma related to mental health and learning difficulties.Comply with the Duty of Candour, promoting transparency and openness.Maintain and expand knowledge through continuous learning and professional development.Respect and uphold equality, diversity, and the rights of all staff, service users, and stakeholders.Essential Qualifications:Relevant Fire Safety Qualification (e.g., Fire Service College, Fire Safety Engineering, Safety Management Degree).Graduate or Member of the Institution of Fire Engineers (IFE) or Institute of Fire Prevention Officers (IFPO).Essential Knowledge/Experience:At least 5 years of management experience, with at least 2 years in a fire safety role.In-depth knowledge of fire safety legislation, Health Technical Memoranda (HTMs), and Building Regulations.Proficient in Microsoft Office and database management.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Desirable Qualifications:Possession of a Health & Safety Diploma.Fire investigation course certification.Desirable Experience/Skills:Presentation skills and basic numerical data analysis.Familiarity with British Standards on fire safety equipment, fire alarms, and signage.Values and Attributes:Strong alignment with the Trust’s values, with a focus on high professional standards, leadership, customer service, and accountability.Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities, with excellent decision-making skills.Skills:Ability to interpret technical drawings and provide practical solutions.Well-organized with strong time management skills, able to prioritize tasks effectively.Able to work independently and within a team environment, managing a diverse workload.
