Job Description: Steel Works Workshop Operative Position Title: Steel Works Workshop Operative Location: Feltham, TW14     Reports To: Workshop Supervisor/Manager Employment Type: Full-Time Job Summary: As a Steel Works Workshop Operative, you will perform various tasks in a steel fabrication workshop. Responsibilities include operating machinery, assisting in the fabrication and assembly of steel components, maintaining safety and cleanliness, and ensuring product quality. Key Responsibilities: Assist in fabricating and assembling steel structures, following specifications and blueprints. Operate workshop machinery (saws, drills, presses, welding equipment) safely and efficiently. Inspect completed work for quality and report defects. Handle materials, using cranes, forklifts, and other lifting equipment. Maintain and clean workshop equipment and tools. Follow health and safety regulations and participate in safety training. Keep accurate records of work, materials, and time. Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth workflow. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives. Qualifications and Skills: Experience in a steel fabrication workshop or similar environment is preferred. Proficiency with hand and power tools, welding equipment, and machinery. Physical fitness for lifting heavy materials and standing for extended periods. Strong attention to detail and quality. Knowledge of health and safety practices. Good communication skills and ability to follow instructions. Ability to work effectively as part of a team. Flexibility to work overtime when required. Work Environment: The role involves manual labor, including lifting, bending, and operating machinery, with exposure to noise, dust, and heavy machinery
