Location: Wellington Regional Hospital, Kenepuru Hospital Service: Urology Service Contract: Full time, fixed term 12 months Salary: As per ASMS SECA Kōrero mō te tūranga – About the role We are looking for 12 months fixed term Urologist to join our team of specialists. We are open to Consultant level, MOSS level or Fellow Urologist candidates. There is a possibility for the position to become become permanent for the right candidate. The Urology service provides a comprehensive inpatient and outpatient urology service for the Wellington region, including the Hutt Valley and Wairarapa. As an Urologist, you will be responsible for providing a high standard of clinical practice and expertise to the patients under your care. It is essential that you are eligible for vocational registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand. You will be known by your peers as someone who is able to work within a multi-disciplinary environment, being able to engage with a number of different people from various backgrounds. You will also be expected to participate in the supervision and instruction of junior doctors within the service. Mō tō mātou rōpū – About our team The successful candidate will be joining a team of 5 Urologists, 4 Clinical Nurse Specialists and 4 Clinic Nurses. The service is a regional one, delivering a large proportion of patient care from Wellington Regional Hospital, with some surgery at Kenepuru Hospital. A new department, with enhanced clinical areas was occupied in August 2023. The SMO team is supportive of nurse-led practice and will be assisting in the development of enhanced pathways for some procedural areas. Moū – About you Registered with the Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ) or eligibility for vocational or general registration, with the Medical Council of New Zealand Urology skill focus on stones and reconstruction work preferred Provide acute and elective clinical care and supervision across outpatient, inpatient and theatre services Participate in an acute on call roster Ability to work in collaboration with multidisciplinary team Able to provide consistently high standards of medical care Relevant experience and training E pā ana ki a tatou – About us Capital, Coast and Hutt Valley district is located centrally in Wellington and has over 6,000 full-time equivalent staff, making us one of the major employers in the Wellington region.
