As one of the largest fabricators in the United Kingdom and Ireland, we have over 160 employees. We operate from a state-of-the-art 70,000 sq. foot factory in Belfast, and have a factory in Cumbernauld, Scotland. Dessian Products would like to recruit a full time Maintenance Engineer for our factory on Apollo Road, Belfast. The successful candidate will be part of the Maintenance team and will have responsibility for the maintenance and upkeep of production machinery including, Schirmer saw centres, Urban welders and corner cleaning equipment. This will involve fault finding, repairs and routine preventative maintenance activities to ensure that any downtime due to machinery faults is kept to a minimum and production quality is at a high standard. Additional duties involve general factory and building maintenance. The successful candidate will be required to operate in a shift system. The person: Educated to NVQ level 3/HNC or equivalent with a recognised apprenticeship in Electrical/Mechanical engineering. Minimum of 2 years relevant engineering experience in a manufacturing environment. An understanding of mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical control systems with the ability to locate faults. Welding and fabrication skills. Demonstrate a hands-on result orientated approach. Good verbal and written communication skills. Have an excellent time and attendance record. Hours of work: 40 hours per week. However, please note that flexibility with regards to working hours and availability for overtime is required.
