We are in search of tutors who will work as part of the Homefield curriculum team to ensure students achieve ambitious outcomes that prepare them for adult life while developing their employability, communication and social skills.What is the role of a Homefield tutor? At Homefield, being a tutor is all about:Teaching essentials skills for future success.Planning ambitious schemes of learning and assessment to stretch and challenge. Designing and delivering engaging lessons.Being hands-on with meaningful activities.Getting out and about to apply skills learnt in the classroom to the community. Supporting students to realise their potential and overcome barriers.Using your passion and experience to motivate and inspire students. Assessing abilities and striving for more to help students achieve their goals.Providing a safe and welcoming environment as a trusted adult for vulnerable young people.Contributing to the organisational mission, vision and values that enable our students to make progress towards an independent future at home, at work and in their community.What specialisms are available? This is an exciting time as we expand our team for September 2024. We have the following subject specialism posts available:Maths and English Tutor What we are looking for: The ideal candidate will have at least a level 3 qualification in catering and hospitality and a teaching qualification. Experience of teaching students with additional needs is desirable.Position: This is a permanent role working 22.5 hours per week, 52 weeks per year. You will be mainly based in Sileby, Leicestershire and the salary ranges from £31,100- £34,785 depending on experience and qualifications. Your Opportunity: You will support our students to develop their literacy and numeracy skills, whether that be working towards qualifications or specific milestones. This includes delivering bespoke interventions to help our students master key literacy and numeracy skills that will benefit in their daily lives.
