I am seeking a Criminology graduate to work in the Public Sector as a Serious Violence Community Co-ordinator #Graduate # Criminology #CriminalLaw

Lead, coordinate, and work collaboratively in the development of community networks and support structures around violence, vulnerability and exploitation across Richmond and/or Wandsworth.

Implement and develop serious violence community forums in Richmond using the Wandsworth serious violence forum as a model. Expand the community network across the boroughs.

Have oversight and management of the community forums across the two boroughs, share best practice and look to improve communications between the community network and key statutory agencies.

Support community members to develop the skills to implement localised violence reduction projects. Empower local organisations to deliver localised projects and provide access to training opportunities, i.e. trauma informed training, bid writing, etc. Lead on identification of community skills, assets, issues, and needs.

Work with partner agencies to identify and help secure sustainable funding for voluntary and community led projects and organisations and the serious violence forums across the two boroughs.

Connect organisations with the local authority and police as part of a formalised critical-incident response.

Provide data and ensure all service activities are planned/evaluated, and impact measured and shared with partners.

Identify and contact potential new forum members, particularly in areas without representation across the boroughs. Develop asset maps and ward profiles of the areas covered by forum members. Identify community organisations/champions within serious violent hotspot locations to assist partners to respond to and manage local tensions

Assist with bid writing and project proposals to develop a community pot of funding for community led violence reduction projects

Draw on the skills and experience of the community. Collaborative working with the Voluntary Community Sector (VCS) and the community to co-produce services that tackle the issues that matter most to them and strengthen resilience

Provide administrative support for forums and be accountable for the generation and monitoring of external funding and any delegated budgets.

Ensure the councils’ financial procedures and the policies of any external funding bodies are adhered to. Develop Service Level Agreements where necessary.

Support joint funding applications with partner agencies to develop projects.

Identify any relevant funding opportunities to support and facilitate community solutions.

Utilise the Serious Violence Needs Assessment to identify priorities to inform planning of needs.

To update the forum webpage around relevant local projects, including outcomes/promotion/recruitment.

Through the development of local networks, the Consultant will link the transitions work into localised intervention/support opportunities.

To take on key responsibilities as laid down by the Serious Violence Manager. This includes developing specialist knowledge, sharing best practice, deputising, or running key initiatives across both boroughs.
