Substance Misuse Worker

Apricus Resourcing are currently looking for an enthusiastic, dynamic and adaptable young persons substance misuse worker for an ongoing locum role based from a service in Merton. The service aims to reduce harm through supporting the prevention and identification of need and to provide targeted and specialist, evidence-based interventions for young people aged 24 and under who are at significant risk of harm from, or are experiencing, or have been using substances, reported missing or exploited. You will be joining a hard working, dedicated team that offer care, support & guidance to young people throughout the local area who are suffering with substance misuse issues. Under the direction of the Service Management team, you will take a lead on the coordination of Targeted Interventions such as brief interventions, group work and assertive outreach across the service. You will be responsible for the coordination of low-level interventions to identified target groups and individuals who are considered to be at risk of harm through substance misuse. If you have a proven track record within Substance Misuse, Child exploitation roles then our client would love to speak with you. Training & support can be offered so, for example you have worked within substance misuse but have no prior history within child exploitation please do not let this put you off. Key duties * Hold a case load ensuring appropriate support is given to young people or families according to their need who are referred by means of effective assessment and care planning. * Where required undertake Return Home Interviews for missing young people * Determine appropriate support plans and pathways for all young people, including the provision of interventions and direct work * Undertake one to one work with vulnerable children, young people and families to inform a risk reduction plan. * Work in partnership with Children’s Social Care to facilitate support * Work in association with the requirements set out in the KPIs set out by the commission. The position available will be working Monday – Friday 9-5 however you will need to be flexible as from time to time you may need to work into the evening dependant on the needs of the service. The position is based on an ongoing locum basis that has the possibility to be turned permanent in the future, the rate of pay for this role is between £19.55-£20.01/h dependant on experience.
