Job Title: 3.5t Van Driver Location: Grays Shifts: 5 over 7 days Rate: Starting rate of £12.52 per hour Are you an experienced 3.5t Van Driver looking for a new opportunity in Grays? Look no further! Aligra, on behalf of our client, is currently seeking motivated individuals to join their dynamic team. Requirements: * Valid UK Driving Licence: Must have Category B entitlement and no major endorsements. * Experience: Previous experience as a 3.5t Van Driver, preferably in a multi-drop delivery environment. * Knowledge of Area: Good understanding of road networks in the Gatwick area. * Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail, ensuring all deliveries and collections are accurate. * Organisational Skills: Excellent organisational skills to manage time effectively and meet deadlines. * Communication Skills: Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with customers and colleagues. * Health and Safety Awareness: Familiarity with relevant health and safety regulations and safe handling practices. Key Responsibilities: * Daily Vehicle Checks: Conduct thorough daily vehicle inspections to ensure the van is safe and roadworthy. Report any defects or issues to the supervisor promptly to maintain a high standard of vehicle safety. * Efficient Route Planning: Plan and organize delivery routes to maximize efficiency and ensure timely deliveries and collections. Adapt routes as necessary to meet changing conditions and deadlines, ensuring optimal productivity. * Loading and Unloading: Safely load and unload goods from the van, ensuring items are securely fastened and protected during transit. Handle goods with care to prevent damage and ensure the highest quality service. * Paperwork Management: Accurately complete all necessary paperwork, including delivery notes and collection receipts. Ensure all required documentation is signed and collected upon delivery or collection to maintain accurate records. * Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service by communicating effectively and professionally with store personnel and customers. Address and resolve any issues or queries promptly to ensure customer satisfaction. * Health and Safety Compliance: Adhere to all relevant health and safety regulations, including the safe handling and transport of goods. Report any incidents or accidents immediately to maintain a safe working environment. * Team Collaboration: Work independently and as part of a team to achieve common goals. Demonstrate reliability, flexibility, and a positive attitude to contribute to a cohesive team environment.
