ABOUT THE ROLEResponsibility for management accounting, forecasting, commercial analysis, and decision support relating to the branches within the region.Working closely with the Branch Managers, Regional Directors, and Head of Finance to maximise the commercial opportunities and identify risks and opportunities within the region.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESProactive Finance Business Partner providing support, challenge and insight to the Branch Managers and Regional DirectorsTo deliver timely, accurate & relevant financial information & analysis to key stakeholders including:Monthly and quarterly forecastsAnnual budgetsVariance analysisKPI’sAd-hoc analysis to drive business performanceIdentifying risks and opportunities to enable delivery of the targetsDevelop, rigorously challenge, and question the budget/forecast assumptions and KPIsProvision of the Monthly Review Packs and participation in the Monthly Branch Review MeetingIdentify and explain business performance variances and recommendations for improvementsConsignment reconciliation, analysis, and challengeMargin management through analysis and challengeDevelop and understand distribution cost reporting & KPI’sBenchmarking performance across locationsMonitor new business performance and profitabilityAttend monthly stock takesMaintain strong financial controls across all areasSupport the Head of Finance as required through analysis and project activityCOMPLIANCEWorking in accordance with SOX internal control framework to minimise risk and ensure transparencyEnsure that all company policies and statutory requirements are adhered toLiaise with internal and external auditorsEnsuring tasks are evidenced and saved in accordance with delegation of authority matrix in timely mannerEnsure segregation of duties within branches are aligned with control framework EXPERIENCE / ABOUT YOUMulti-site experience within the fresh produce industryManagement accounting in an FMCG manufacturing environmentComfortable being the only Finance person within the regionFlexible team player who can help change behaviour both by compelling nature of analysis and by working closely with colleagues to drive improvementsDemonstrates a sense of personal ownership, is results driven and has a ‘can do’ attitudeEnthusiasm and tenacity to strive for continuous improvementAble to adapt quickly in changing environmentsPrioritise and effectively manage time and work under pressure to tight deadlinesExcellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills, able to build relationships across all levels of the businessExperience of influencing non-Finance colleaguesDemonstrable experience of process improvement and stakeholder managementAbility to use own initiative and to adapt to changes in the industryAdvanced Microsoft Excel skills QUALIFICATIONSQualified Accountant, ideally CIMAYOU MUST BE COMFORTABLE SUPPORTING MULTIPLE LOCATIONS (Yorkshire and the North East) AND BE PREPARED TO TRAVEL SUBSTANTIALLY, up to 70% of your time, WITHIN THIS ROLE
