Job Title: Health & Safety Officer - Data Centre Operations

Location: Hemel Hempstead

Job Type: Full-time

Day Rate: £260-£300

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and Implement H&S Policies: Create, review, and enforce health and safety policies and procedures specific to data center operations.
• Risk Assessment: Conduct regular risk assessments and safety audits to identify potential hazards within the data center environment.
• Compliance: Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal health and safety regulations, as well as industry standards.
• Incident Investigation: Lead investigations into any safety incidents or near misses, providing detailed reports and recommendations to prevent reoccurrence.
• Training: Organize and conduct H&S training sessions for staff, contractors, and visitors to ensure they understand and adhere to safety protocols.
• Emergency Preparedness: Develop and maintain emergency response plans, including fire safety, evacuation procedures, and first aid.
• Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with the latest H&S regulations and best practices, continuously improving safety measures and protocols.

Qualifications:

• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in a health and safety role, preferably within a data center or similar technical environment. Experience working as a TWC.
• Certification: NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent certification in health and safety, TWC.
• Knowledge: Strong understanding of safety management systems, risk assessment methodologies, and emergency response planning in a high-tech environment.
• Skills: Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Technical Aptitude: Familiarity with data center operations, including power management, cooling systems, and IT infrastructure, is an advantage.
