Data Engineer

Certain Advantage are recruiting on behalf of our client for a Data Engineer to maintain and develop their data services as they embark on a modernisation journey. The opportunity This is a fantastic opportunity for anyone with the ambition to support and lead on modernising data services that will ultimately give senior leadership team the insights and ability to make data driven decisions. Working in a specialist manufacturing environment you’ll have exposure to various systems like a bespoke ERP, Manufacturing systems and tech stack that currently includes SQL server, T-SQL, SSRS, PowerBI, PowerBI gateway and DAX. There are users still relying on Excel, and you’ll engage with stakeholder to bring them on the modernisation journey by developing and delivering standardised and non-siloed business reporting practises.This role will offer you the opportunity to be a leader in driving forward modernisation of data services (both tech and service management standards) within a respected specialist business. The roleYou’ll be required to manage the data service environment by monitoring performance, integrating new data sets and sources using automation tools, and developing secure data marts for end user self-service reporting. You’ll recommend change projects to enable the data service to deliver increased business value, and then lead and deliver approved change projects using an agile approach. Working in a high-quality manufacturing environment you’ll need to ensure changes are suitably documented and ensure the transition to BUA includes training and documentation for both end-users and the Service Desk team.You’ll also need to ensure data solutions incorporate information security requirements including GDPR.What we’re looking for in you: Experience in SQL server, T-SQL, SSRS and experience of creating secure data marts.Data warehouse and ETL technologiesPowerBI, PowerBI gateway and DAX to create and deliver reports and dashboards with automated dataflows.ERP solutions and data models for Sales order processing, manufacturing, warehousing etc. Agile project management using JIRAITIL for creating and delivering data services.
