Autism Support Assistant Pay Scale: £85 - £96 Start Date: Oct 2024 Location: Wakefield Full-time role Career Teachers are recruiting passionate and qualified Teachers to work in a range of Primary Schools in the Wakefield Education Authority. Successful applicants can work on a full time or part time basis. Career Teachers support a range of schools including Independent, SEN and Faith Schools. We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated Autism Support Assistant to join our team at a special needs school in Wakefield. This full-time position is available from October half term. You will play a crucial role in supporting students with autism, helping them to thrive in their educational environment. Key Responsibilities: Provide one-on-one and group support to students with autism. Assist in the implementation of individualised education plans (IEPs). Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet the unique needs of each student. Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment. Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other staff to support student development. Monitor and document student progress and behaviour. Encourage social interaction and positive behaviour among students.Requirements: Experience working with children with autism or other special needs. A patient, empathetic, and understanding approach. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively as part of a team. Relevant qualifications or training in special education are desirable.
