Warehouse Manager
BGA are looking for an experienced and ambitious person to join our team as a Warehouse Manager.
BGA is the aftermarket division of the British Gaskets Group. We are a world leading original equipment gasket and engine component manufacturer and distributor to many of the world's vehicle and industrial factories. The BGA distribution center carries over 20,000 SKU s and distributes to over 60 countries. It offers both next day shipment and bulk loads across the world.
We are currently looking to fill the position of Warehouse Manager to manage the daily operations of the warehouse, including Inbound, logistics and order fulfilment. You will have full support from our existing warehouse management team and report into our Warehouse Operations Manager.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Plan, coordinate and monitor the intake and storage of product and despatching of orders
- Manage and motivate employees while overseeing daily operations
- Arrange and own the logistics of moving stock to other locations
- Achieve a 100% OTIF on all customer deliveries
- Coordinate the use of automated and computerised systems where necessary
- Keep stock control systems up to date and make sure stock inventories and locations are accurate
- Review and prepare workflows, staffing requirements, space allocations, equipment layouts, and action plans that meet company standards for productivity, quality, and customer service
- Ensure there are sufficient warehouse supplies for daily operations.
- Help manage logistic KPI s to ensure they are met in terms of cost analysis and delivery performance
- Schedule and oversee warehouse team, and manage the flow and quality of work to maximize efficiency and minimize overtime
- Improve processes and policies in support of business goals
- Maintain very high standards of housekeeping, health and safety, hygiene and security
- Cover for the Head of Warehouse & Operations when required
Experience:
- Proven experience in warehouse management, minimum 3 years
- Integration of WMS Systems / Systems Change
- Expertise in warehouse procedures and best practices
- Six Sigma Lean practises
- Proven ability to implement process improvement initiatives
- Excellent knowledge of warehousing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Experience with warehouse management software and databases
- Strong leadership qualities
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with all levels of company staff
- Ability to deliver effective feedback, both written and verbal
- Strong decision making and problem-solving skills
