Data Scientist

First Touch Games are looking for a Data Scientist to join the team in Oxford to help deliver the best football games on mobile platforms.You will have at least 2 years of experience in free to play mobile gaming in a workplace environment, or in a closely related industry. You relish being part of a small & highly proficient data science team of that plays an important role in delivering ongoing success for the Studio. You are a huge football fan too with a deep understanding of the game, enhancing your data science skills to extract unique analysis of the highest quality. Working with our Head of Product and Data Science and across the Studio generally, you will:Develop & maintain queries and visualisations that help monitor the key metrics of our gamesDrill into in any areas of game performance variability to provide actionable insight for decision makingPerform deep dive analysis that illuminates player behaviour and improve game experienceDesign and assess the results of various split testing experimentsSupport the ongoing development of the Studio’s data governance, BI tools and technologiesRequired skills & experience:Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics or other relevant fieldGood knowledge of data querying and extraction abilities through SQL and Python or other similar languagesConfident data modeller with a good understanding of statistical and visualisation techniques,An excellent problem solver with an ability to think critically and creativelyGaming enthusiast, in particular free-to-play mobile gamesAn excellent communicator, both technical and non-technical, written and oralA passionate football fan, either through playing the game regularly or following the game deeply, including viewing matches regularly and participating in fantasy football competitionsThis is a full time, permanent role based at our Oxford studio.
