Our client is a well-established and reputable construction company specialising in delivering high-quality residential, commercial, sports & leisure and commercial projects up to £25m in value. Due to a new project win, they are now seeking to recruit a Project Quantity Surveyor. Project Overview My client has secured a £15 million contract to deliver a state-of-the-art student accommodation scheme in Reading. The Role The Project Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for overseeing the commercial and financial aspects of the project from inception to completion. This role requires a proactive and detail-oriented individual with the ability to manage costs, mitigate risks, and maintain excellent client and stakeholder relationships. Key Responsibilities * Pre-Contract: Assist with the preparation of tenders, budgets, and contract documentation, ensuring compliance with company and project standards. * Cost Management: Monitor and control project costs throughout the construction phase, including valuation of variations and cost forecasting to stay within budgetary constraints. * Budgeting & Forecasting: Prepare, track, and review financial reports to provide accurate forecasting and advise on the cost implications of project changes. * Contract Administration: Administer and review contracts, including identifying potential contractual risks and managing claims, variations, and procurement processes. * Subcontractor Management: Negotiate and manage subcontractor contracts, ensuring work meets company standards and project deadlines, as well as approving payment applications and maintaining relationships. * Reporting: Prepare regular reports, including cost, value reconciliation (CVR) and cost-to-complete reports, for presentation to senior management and stakeholders. * Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate potential risks to maintain project success within agreed-upon parameters. * Compliance and Standards: Ensure all work is performed in compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards, as well as relevant legislation and regulations. Requirements * Minimum of 5 years’ experience in quantity surveying, with a proven track record on projects of a similar scale. * Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving abilities * Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines * Familiarity with JCT Contracts What's in it for you? * Basic Salary of £55k-£70k * Pension * Healthcare * Bonus Scheme * Travel Expenses
