Role: Marketing Content OfficerRole Type: TemporarySalary: £26,500 £28,500 (dependent upon experience)Location: This role would be based in our office near Haymarket, Edinburgh. Candidates should have the ability to travel to and visit the Dormant Distillery Co. shops in Edinburgh or Pitlochry.In addition, travel to, other ‘hubs’ for the Marketing team, such as Perth, may also be required from time to time.About UsThe Dormant Distillery Company operate one of the worlds’ leading whisky specialist retailers and wholesalers, Royal Mile Whiskies. Founded in 1998, the company also run a specialist tobacconist on the Royal Mile – The Cigar Box – and in 2011 opened two specialist drinks retail shops in Edinburgh and Pitlochry – Drinkmonger – with the vision to provide the most comprehensive range of quality alcohol products in Scotland.Along with their online business through www.Royalmilewhiskies.Com and www.Drinkmonger.Com, the company has developed a wholesale business, supplying the on-trade across Scotland and beyond.Our Group of companies and brands pride ourselves on our knowledge-centric approach and people-first culture. We are building a team to support our strategic aims of making the whisky, wine and spirits market more accessible to all whilst sharing our passion and knowledge with our global audiences.The RoleThe position of Marketing Content Officer will report to the Head of Content & Strategy and work within the Marketing Team and closely with and alongside all teams within Dormant Distillery Company Ltd. Your main responsibilities will include:Support the Marketing team to plan, develop, and execute marketing initiatives.Execute day-to-day marketing activities such as social media posting, community management and responding to customer enquiries across social platforms.Writing and editing content for various forms of communication and channels (email, social media, website, print) that is engaging, consistent and supports individual marketing campaigns, objectives and activities all while enhancing the Royal Mile Whiskies, Drinkmonger and The Cigar Box brand identity.Create social media and email campaigns to increase engagement and target new audiencesAssist in the execution of promotional campaigns, ensuring on-time delivery and proper coordination across digital channels.Collect performance metrics and preparing periodic reports to measure progressCarrying out research for team projects and supporting other marketing activities as required. This includes supporting wider group marketing activities if required.Work across the organisation and department to support and deliver on workstreams, projects and tasks as required.Person SpecificationWe are looking for a creative, committed, organised and forward-thinking marketing officer who has a particular skill set in building unique, engaging and informative content across a range of channels and for a variety of audiences. Excellent copywriting and research skills, attention to detail, good communication and organisation are crucial.A keen interest in the world of whisky, wine, and spirits with a desire to learn more about the industry is key. This is a busy environment, so the ability to work independently, to tight timescales and to a consistent fashion is crucial. We rely on others across the organisation, so teamwork will be paramount. Essential ExperienceResearching, planning, creating, delivering and monitoring contentCrafting engaging content and copy for a variety of audiences through different channelsCreating content for a variety of platforms including social media, website, email, news/blog and printed publications (e.G., catalogues, etc)Using marketing insight, data analytics and ongoing monitoring/feedback to deliver customer-centric content campaignsReviewing SEO and writing website and other content to capitalise and maximise on SEO opportunitiesDeveloping and delivering content to support the customer experience Desirable ExperienceBuilding and nurturing partnerships to build contentReporting on campaigns and partnershipsWorking with a team to deliver on content goalsWorking with a Public Relations team (supplier or in-house)Essential SkillsExcellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with great attention to detail.Strong project organisation skills * Desirable experience using project management software (particularly Asana, or also Trello, Monday.Com, etc.) Desirable SkillsAdditional European language proficiencies Desirable Training and QualificationsRelevant degree, qualification or educationWSET Level 2 Qualification (or higher) – and/or clearly relevant and equivalent experience/knowledge in the wine/spirts industry Additional Info, Salary and BenefitsThis is a temporary, full-time post. We are offering a starting salary between £26,500 £28,500. A Group Bonus Scheme exists based on trading performance.Our office hours are 08:45 to 17:15, Monday to Friday. Some additional evening and weekend work may be required to meet ad hoc events and deadlines. Flexible working is available.Staff have the opportunity for training (e.G, WSET) and attending industry events and festivals. We offer an enhanced maternity/paternity package, childcare payments for under 3s, increased annual leave allowance after 3 years of service and a workplace pension.
