About your new role:

Responsibilities for the Estimator:

• Researching Costs: Investigate the costs of materials, transportation, labor, and equipment required for projects.
• Obtaining Quotes: Secure quotes from suppliers and contractors within specified timeframes to ensure accurate estimations.
• Risk Assessment: Assess risk levels associated with each project to inform decision-making processes.
• Bid Support: Assist in the preparation of bids for new contracts and provide support to buyers in procurement activities.
• Quotation Preparation: Prepare and submit detailed quotations and cost breakdowns for proposed work.
• Cost Monitoring: Monitor project costs at different stages to ensure adherence to estimated budgets.
• Vendor Relations: Establish and maintain relationships with contractors and vendors to facilitate smooth project execution.

Requirements for the Estimator:

• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
• A minimum of 3 years experience in an Estimating role within main contracting.
• Excellent communication and negotiation abilities
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
• Prior experience in estimating or related field preferred
• Proficiency in relevant software and tools
• Willingness to undergo training and development to progress to a senior role
