Our client is seeking to attract a professional and talented individual who has a passion for developing enduring client relationships and identifying & delivering innovative solutions for their clients. Within their Strategy function this firm is investing further in senior roles with a focus on the Defence sector, helping private side defence organisations with how they develop and deliver strategies to transform their business to meet the ever-changing demands of the sector. They work with C-level executives to identify, structure and solve the way that they go about solving these critical strategic issues.

The role:

As a Director and supported by partners you will be accountable for sales and delivery of a range of projects across the defence sector. You will work with Partners to lead opportunity development & conversion and the design & delivery of engagements, to meet their clients needs.

Additionally you will:

Take a lead role in developing their defence sector capability (both in the Strategy function and across the wider firm); Proactively develop thought leadership; Design and lead practice development initiatives; Actively develop your own knowledge and expertise: Build and maintain a strong external and internal network; Motivate, mentor and develop project team members and appraisees.

Required experience:

Outstanding interpersonal skills with the ability to inspire your teams and develop outstanding client relationships. Substantial experience of selling and delivering high impact strategy & transformation projects to the C suite in defence contractors, including a track record of integrating across a range of services to meet client needs. A demonstrable network of senior client contacts and a deep understanding of a number of defence organisations strategy, structure and stakeholder dynamics. A mix of structured problem solving skills, (including strong numerical capabilities combined with sound commercial acumen), ability to deliver insightful recommendations that can be practically executed, excellent written English and oral communication skills (other language skills would be a strong bonus). Likely to have worked for a strategy house, big 4 firm, or central strategy / corporate development team, with experience of leading complex projects with multi-disciplinary teams. Experience of leading high value business development activities and a track record of developing and mentoring team members. Strong values that consistently guide the way you do business, the way you interact and the way you lead teams.
