Support Worker

We are currently recruiting for a temporary Support Worker to join a housing association in the East Midlands.

Location: Northampton
Hours: shift work between the hours of 8 am - 8 pm
Hourly rate: 16- 19ph via umbrella
Contract type: Temporary

Responsibilities of a Support Worker are:

• Supporting pathways for people who have dealt with trauma, periods of homelessness, poor mental health and drug/alcohol abuse, domestic abuse and financial difficulties.
• Safeguarding cases and taking appropriate action with the line of services suitable
• Helping to prepare tenants for their future, identifying opportunities for people to move on successfully into sustainable, independent housing

Successful Support Worker applicants must have:

• Experience working with and supporting the vulnerable in a housing back ground
• Ability to build relationships with customers and colleagues and an ability to influence and negotiate
• Be comfortable with challenging conversations, great listening skills and recognise what our customers really want and need
• Work effectively without judgement
• Good resilience and an understanding of the issues faced by people living in supported housing

We are also interested in receiving applications from Homelessness prevention officers, ASB officers and Ex-Offenders Officers.
