Premise Manager

Job Advert: Premises Manager (Primary School) Location: Southwark Borough Start Date: Early November (Post Half Term) Contract: Full-time, long-term (Remainder of academic year with potential for extension to permanent) Hourly Rate: £15 - £20 based on experience. We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Premises Manager to join our vibrant primary school starting in November, after the half-term break. This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned professional to lead and maintain the school's facilities, ensuring a safe, efficient, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. Key Responsibilities: Oversee the day-to-day management of the school's premises, ensuring all areas are well-maintained and compliant with health and safety regulations. Lead a team of five, including a caretaker and premises assistants, ensuring tasks are delegated efficiently and completed to high standards. Manage and coordinate repairs, maintenance, and general upkeep of the building and grounds. Liaise with external contractors and service providers for maintenance and improvement works. Ensure the school is prepared and presentable for daily operations and special events. Develop and implement regular risk assessments, ensuring the safety of students and staff. Work closely with the school leadership to support their vision and ensure the premises meet the needs of the school community.Requirements: Proven experience in a similar premises management role, ideally within a school environment. Strong understanding of the operational and safety needs specific to schools. Ability to manage a team and work collaboratively with staff at all levels. Excellent organisational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks effectively. Knowledge of health and safety regulations and procedures.
