HGV Mechanic

JOB TITLE: Motor Transport Engineer (HGV) REPORTING TO: Motor Transport Supervisor HOURS OF WORK: 39 hours per week Mon-Thurs 8.00 am 4.30pm, Fri 8.00 am 3.30 pm SALARY: £35,994 as of 1st October 2024, plus additional MT Standby Allowance Belfast International Airport is a 100% wholly owned subsidiary of Vinci Airports. Our Motor Transport facility has a small team that maintains a fleet of almost 70 vehicles including vans, 4x4s, tractors, runway sweepers and fire appliances. These vehicles are powered by petrol, diesel, hybrid and electric. The work is varied, interesting and includes the use of up-to-date equipment and diagnostic tools. Job Purpose: To deliver all aspects of the Motor Transport departments services and ensuring that they are efficiently maintained; personal safety and good housekeeping standards are as per Company Polices and Procedures; and to offer excellent customer service at all times. To deliver a Quality Assurance system to ensure that the MT repairs and service standards are maintained to appropriate levels and comply with legislation. Essential Criteria: 5 GCSEs pass (grade C or above) in English & Mathematics, or equivalent; Current driving licence NVQ Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (Heavy Goods) Level 3 or equivalent Experience of working in a Motor Transport Engineer role in a workshop environment Please refer to the job description and person specification for full details of the job duties and essential/desirable criteria.
