Strategic Lead for Brent Schools Partnership:
An exciting opportunity to lead strategic change!
BACKGROUND Brent Schools Partnership (BSP) is a unique, creative and dynamic organisation, established by schools in Brent to support them to both improve and achieve the best possible outcomes for their students. BSP currently provides a number of highly effective programmes and services to Brent schools. BSP supports and aims to meet the emerging needs of schools – we are an organisation led by schools for schools Having operated successfully since 2012, BSP is looking to build on existing strong partnerships and continue to develop innovative practices shared in schools across Brent. We are looking for a Lead to take responsibility for the next stage of the organisations development and help shape the organisation to ensure it is well placed to support and meet the needs of schools in the years to come.
ROLE The core purpose of the role is to ensure a strong partnership that supports the growth of all member schools and deliver the principle aim of the BSP, which is to support all Brent schools to access high quality school improvement and development across the network. The successful candidate will demonstrate a track record of Executive Leadership or Headship and of working closely with senior leaders. The Board welcome applications from candidates with a broad range of backgrounds, including those with commercial experience as well as education expertise. Most importantly, the Board are looking for a candidate who will: inspire confidence in, and ambition for, the BSP. be responsible for continually evolving the organisation to meet the current needs of schools to support their journey of improvement. be forward thinking and able to identify opportunities to enable BSP to meet the needs of schools in Brent. lead and successfully collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders – including Local Authorities and strategic partners both in and beyond Brent. deliver rigorous quality assurance of the services delivered by the BSP. fully understand, or rapidly gain expertise in, the national education landscape - and be able to help schools successfully navigate change.
RESPONSIBILITIES The successful candidate will work closely with the Board of the Brent Schools Partnership to develop and implement our strategic plan to: Increase membership and offer of the BSP – including working with partner schools to elicit the future provision which best meets the needs of our partner schools. Work with schools, the Local Authority (LA), Teaching School Hub (TSH) and other strategic partners to support the work of schools in developing highly successful leaders and teachers. Develop a close and positive relationship with BSP’s strategic partners (Brent LA, Teaching School Hub, service providers, etc) to enable delivery of impactful support. Support schools to understand what their key priorities for improvement are and how they can address these (via school to school support, peer reviews, school improvement service (SIS) work etc). Develop, in close collaboration with schools and partners, a high performing, and sustainable model for school-led school improvement in Brent. Obtain feedback and to openly evaluate the work of the BSP, sharing findings and acting to continuously improve the service. Successfully engage and deploy a range of service providers e.g. School Improvement Specialists and quality assure their work. Devise and implement a communications and marketing strategy, supporting the educational and strategic aims of the BSP. Produce regular reports (termly) for the BSP Board and gather stakeholder views systematically. Report to the BSP Management Board communicating progress against agreed targets and objectives.
Pay and Terms £500 to £550 per day (depending on experience) at c. 2 to 3 days per week – to be agreed with successful candidate Working Arrangements Contractor Responsible to BSP Director Board Start date January 2025 (or April 2025 if you are currently in a teaching post)
