Do you possess the skills to deescalate challenging behaviour and a deep understanding of Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? Tradewind Recruitment is excited to partner with a highly regarded Specialist School in Blackpool that caters to pupils from 9 - 16 years old with a range of complex needs, focusing on SEMH support. The school is committed to providing a safe, nurturing, and stimulating learning environment that empowers pupils to overcome challenges and achieve their full potential. Position: Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant As a Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in the pupils' educational journey by providing tailored support and guidance. Your empathetic approach, along with your skills in deescalating challenging behaviour, will contribute to maintaining a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere. Responsibilities: Work closely with classroom teachers to provide one-on-one and small group support. Utilise your knowledge of psychology and behaviour management techniques to deescalate challenging situations. Assist in the development and implementation of individualised education plans (IEPs) and behaviour intervention plans (BIPs). Foster a supportive and encouraging environment to promote social and emotional development. Collaborate with the SENCO and other professionals to ensure effective support for Pupils with SEMH needs. Engage Pupils in a variety of educational and extracurricular activities.Requirements: A degree in Psychology or a related field. Experience working with children and young people, preferably within Key Stages 2 to 4. Strong understanding of SEMH and behaviour management strategies. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
